Ayushya Puja

This homam is carried out to worship the God of life (Ayur Devatha). By performing this homam, one gets blessings of long life from Ayur Devta.

If a child is constantly not keeping well, this homam could be performed on a monthly basis till the child attains good health. But commonly this is performed once a year on the day of the star in which the child is born. It is commenced on the day the child completes one year of age. In case one forgets or is unable to perform it on this day due to inevitable circumstances, it should be carried out on the consecutive month. If desired it can also be done even on a monthly basis.

By performing this homam, one gets long life blessings from Ayur Devta. It is highly recommended that this homa should be performed once a year for healthy living and long life. If you are suffering from any ailment for long duration, then in such condition also Ayushya Homa is suggested.

You are supposed to perform this homam on the Star (Nakshaktra) birth date of the child. Getting it done on the first birth day bears significance. You can also perform it on the other birthdays too by choice.
